The day after Christmas we welcomed 22 women, including 4 younger ones, around the lit Christmas tree. It was an encounter full of joy and the witness of friendship.
At the moment of introductions, we recalled the names of the Sisters at the origin of this friendship. This was a strong link between the present and the past. Among others : Marguerite Tortel (RIP), Maria Peral Del Pozo (Maruja), Danuta Kmieciak, Valérie Kabore, Beatrice Wêndpouiré, etc. For the most part, it is at the Library that this friendship, this attachment and sisterly relationship with us grew.
Leila, a student in Kigali, on holiday with her family in Oran, expressed her pride at being a young Algerian studying in Rwanda. This gave rise to an interesting discussion.
We had opened our doors and offered the cup of friendship… and in return we received what lives in the heart of each one : gratitude, joy and gifts. New friendships were woven. Hearts opened.
